LiFePO4 has many advantages over other lithium-ion battery designs and older lead-acid (LA) batteries. They weigh less, they require zero maintenance, they have better charge and discharge characteristics and they have a much longer life

This brand-new technology battery comes with a built-in Battery Management System (BMS) to ensure long-life and reliability. The BMS extends the life of this battery to around 10 years or more. Not all lithium-ion phosphate batteries are equipped with a BMS.
Each time a traditional lead acid battery is used and not recharged, it depletes the life of the battery. With loadshedding, blackouts and constant power outages, the lifespan of a lead acid battery can be as low as 6 months. The new lithium-ion phosphate battery can last as long as 10 years or longer.
Additionally, where a lead acid battery requires 24 hours to fully recharge, this LiFePO4 battery only requires two hours, and it is fully functional again. What that means is that it can fully recharge in-between loadshedding outages and be ready for working.
